New people needed in Washington

“Fool me once — shame on you. Fool me twice — shame on me.” Too many of us have been fooled time after time by politicians.
We need to check our candidates to see if they have a record of honesty and using the Constitution as their yardstick. Remember, it was written to protect our liberty that comes from God — not government. More change. I understand our president is going to “reinvent” himself. OK, what will he be this time?
Now he says he is going to cut taxes on some things and increase taxes on others. Cut taxes and increase taxes sounds like an oxymoron to me.
Try this: President Barack Obama claims 700,000 clunkers saved 224 million gallons of gas per year. That equates to a bit more than 5 million barrels of oil. Now 5 million barrels of oil, at say $70 per barrel, cost about $350 million dollars. So, our wonderful government paid $3 billion of our tax dollars to save $350 million. Boy, now that’s change.
In 2010, let’s get all new people in Washington. Throw them all out.
Get involved and join our Payson Tea Party. We meet at 6 p.m. every Thursday at Denny’s.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
