Editor:
After reading the article on page 2A in the Dec. 25 edition, I was appalled.
The fact that one of our educators assaulted a student over something the young man said is outrageous. If I were to grab someone and throw them to the ground simply because they said something I didn’t take too fondly, I would be jailed for assault and battery, prosecuted, and sentenced in court.
Mr. Koppenhafer is supposed to be a teacher, an educator, an example. We have entrusted him to instruct our high school students with the necessary tools to get through life. Is this what Mr. Koppenhafer is teaching? Mr. Koppenhafer has failed us.
This incident should be investigated by the State Board of Education, who I’m sure, would not approve of Mr. Koppenhafer’s actions or the charges levied against young Abraham.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
