Angels come in all sizes

Editor:
As I sit here at 6 a.m. with my coffee and Friday’s Roundup in hand I began to realize just what a small amount of cheerful or happy news we seem to read.
However, I am delighted to read Debbee McDonald’s (letter to the editor) on her angel. At first read, I assumed she was referring to a husband or child. When I realized her angel was her pet (Dutchess), it made me realize how little we are privy to an article like this.
Unfortunately, even though we live in this beautiful place, there are those who have the need to find fault and complain about so many things. Each paper brings judgments from people unwilling to look at the bright side.
Obviously we live in very hard times and have been for quite a few years. Instead of bashing our leaders, make an effort to find the good in them. These complainers are quite free with their negativity and their “know it all” attitude. If you are so unhappy with things regardless of the nature, try to do something positive to help.
People who feed on negativity never seem to be full. They always need another dish of whom or what can I pick on now. To these folks I suggest you read and re-read Debbee’s heartfelt story of her angel. Angels are much easier to find if you simply have the right attitude.
As a matter of fact, I am looking at my own angel who is 13 years old, graying hair and arthritis and a little bit senile. He just came out to greet me with a good morning wet kiss! Debbee said some people may think it is sacrilegious to say that the Lord would send an angel in the form of a pet. If so, then you most probably know little of angels and hopefully will not be driven to argue her feelings.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
