College would be good for Payson

Editor:
My husband and I moved up to this beautiful town two years ago. I don’t wish to see Payson turn into a ghost town when most of the seniors here die in a couple of years.
Having ASU build a college here to entice the young to learn, play, work and enjoy living in this town can’t happen too fast for me.
I miss hearing the laughter of the young adults with their enthusiasm as they prepare to leave their childhood and pursue a career of their choice.
A campus with a place where they could have dances, concerts, and social meetings excites me. The future of Payson depends on what we do now to make education our No. 1 priority.
We need more affordable housing and if that entails seven-story buildings, so be it. People need to live close to their jobs.
I envision a future Payson where life goes on after 9 p.m.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
