Robert Higginbotham and the folks at Payson Jewelers have donated a 14-karat white gold and diamond ladder necklace to be given away in a random drawing at the Black & White Ball Saturday night.
Dust off the tails and evening gowns, put on the glitz — the annual Black & White Ball is Saturday, Jan. 16.
Once again the Mogollon Health Alliance is bringing an evening of glamour and fun to the Rim Country to raise funds to assist the area’s dialysis patients with expenses related to their care.
This is the fifth year proceeds from the popular ball have been dedicated to dialysis patients, and it is the 10th year the event has taken place.
The gala will be held at the Mazatzal Hotel & Casino’s event room and features the dance music of the Sonoran Swing Band. In addition to music for dancing, the evening will include contests for best dressed, best shoes and best dancers, with trophies, gift certificates and more as prizes.
Appetizers include a selection of fine cheeses and crackers, fresh fruit and more.
The dinner menu offers filet mignon, shrimp on a bed of rice, green bean almandine, Caesar salad and rolls, and a dessert of Crème Brulé in a chocolate cup. There will also be gifts at each place setting.
A highlight of the evening promises to be a drawing for the grand prize of a 14-karat white gold and diamond ladder necklace donated by Payson Jewelers. The winner will be selected by a random drawing of table and seat numbers and must be present to win, according to Judy Baker, chief executive officer of MHA.
Only a few tickets remain for the event. The cost is $200 per person or $1,500 for a table.
To purchase tickets or buy a table, call MHA at (928) 472-2588.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
