Learning actions and words have consequences is a valuable lesson

Whoever wrote this article just does not understand cause and effect.
This was a lesson I was taught in school in junior high the hard way.
But it was a lesson I learned very well and still fully understand to this day some 40-plus years later.
When I was in the eighth-grade, I too made a derogatory comment about my wood shop teacher. The comment was something to the effect that “The little nip needed to go back to Japan where he belonged.”
The following lesson my wood shop teacher gave me has lasted all my life.
Yes I was sore for a few days, but the lesson taught me that I am responsible for what I say in life, what I do in life and the consequences of my actions and words have.
I went on to high school and then into the Navy during the Vietnam conflict and that lesson became the most valuable one I learned in school. I later retired from the Navy with intact integrity and honors.
The lesson was well learned and I am thankful to this day.
The coach did the right thing in correcting the young man and I pray the young man learned the same valuable lesson I learned.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
