Payson Regional Medical Center has hired Bo Larsen as the hospital’s director of marketing and business development.
Larsen, most recently, was the director of business and community relations for the North Idaho Health Network in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Before taking that role in north Idaho in October 2008, Larsen was the director of public relations for Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale.
Larsen has more than 20 years of marketing and public relations experience.
His career began in television journalism in Missoula, Mont. while attending the University of Montana. He has worked as a sports producer for CNN in Atlanta, Ga. and as a production director for an advertising agency in Des Moines, Iowa.
In 1988, Larsen moved to Arizona to begin his health care marketing career working for Samaritan Health System, now Banner Health.
During his tenure with Samaritan/Banner, he and his family frequently visited the Rim Country, so Larsen is no stranger to the area.
Larsen came on the job at PRMC this week (Jan. 25) and is still unpacking his office and meeting people.
Larsen said he is impressed how PRMC’s parent company CHS strives for community involvement and continued improvement to the services it provides its consumers.
For Larsen, everything is a high priority, but among his more immediate tasks are helping present the annual Women’s Wellness Forum in March; learning about the management of the Payson Regional Senior Circle; and enhancing the PRMC Web site.
Larsen brings a lot of experience to the job, including producing educational videos.
For now Larsen is commuting between Payson and the Valley and is trying to get his home sold and find a place to rent here.
When he is not working, Larsen said he enjoys fly-fishing, hiking, golf and writing screenplays.
