The season-ending East Region tournament will now be held one week later than originally scheduled.
The opening round will be played Wednesday, Feb. 10 at the home site of the highest seeds and the semifinal and finals will be contested Feb. 11 and 12 in Payson High’s Wilson Dome.
Originally, the opening round was set for Feb. 3 and the final two rounds for Feb. 5 and 6.
East Region athletic directors made the changes because inclement weather forced the postponement of some regular season basketball games and schools needed more time to play those make-up games.
The state tournament dates were also changed because of the weather delays.
The boys first round will now be played on Feb. 15 at the highest seed and the girls first round tips off Feb. 16.
The boys second round is set for Feb. 19 and the girls second round is Feb. 20, both at the highest seed’s home court.
Both the boys and girls final four and championship clashes are set for Feb. 26 and 27 at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
