This week I am having a great time with our son, Bill Jr., his wife Shari and our granddaughter Gatlyn and our grandson Christian. We spent most of the day at the Fossil Creek Goat Ranch taking pictures and feeding the llamas.
This is not the first time that we have visited the ranch, and it is as enjoyable this time as the first time. Christian spent a lot of time with the baby goats and Gatlyn preferred the llamas. Shari took many pictures for the memories.
Our next stop was the Honey Store in Pine. This store is another visit that is required for us. The honey is great along with all the jams and jellies. Our grandson Christian has a fondness for the honey sticks.
In the meantime, Our Bill Jr. and Bill Sr. decided to go fishing at one of the Rim lakes. Sorry to say, no fish were caught. This time that was OK since we had already stopped and bought pork ribs for supper. Better luck
July 4th celebration
Don’t forget that there will be a Quad and Kids ’n’ Kritters Parade on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. The lineup will start at the first set of mailboxes at the start of Tonto Village. There will be ice pops at the end for the kids. The restaurant will be serving barbecue on a bun most of the day. Entertainment will be by Lynda St. James on Sunday on the patio from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Lynda will also be playing from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturday, July 3 at the bar.
Last Tuesday, the nine-ball gals got together for their weekly tournament and Patti Boeschling of Christopher Creek shot for first place. Nanci Olson shot for second and Ethel Cain took third place.
Nanci added another candle to her birthday cake on Monday, June 28. Happy birthday, Nanci!
A bit of sad news, Sue Prach who occasionally plays with the nine-ball gals has lost her father recently. Our sympathy and condolences go out to Sue, her husband Rick and the rest of Sue’s family.
Hellsgate Fire Department
Don’t forget the EMT classes that are being offered sometime in August. The classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please sign up at the administrative office in Star Valley. The phone number is (928) 474-3835 if you have any questions.
Remember that fire restrictions are now in effect. This means no open fires anywhere including your home. Only gas grills are allowed.
This past week and this week have seen many heavy equipment vehicles invading Tonto Village, but for a good cause. Roy George Haught of Goat Creek Construction and his very capable crew are paving the Control Road. What a wonderful sight it is! No more heavy dust clouds invading the Village!
I want to wish everyone a happy and safe 4th of July weekend. Enjoy the festivities at Green Valley Park. There will be fun for the whole family all day long and then the best fireworks display in the whole county.
