Thanks to the generosity of Chaparral Pines, our volunteers, sponsors and guests, our June 27 golf tournament was a great boost to Payson Area Habitat for Humanity. Our event chairperson Fred Badger did a spectacular job, with the help of our Executive Director Cris Royer, and board members Ric Hinkie, Lois and Ivon English.
We are hoping to break ground soon on the final phase of the Longhorn Village project, which will provide housing for five Payson families that all work in our community. We simply could not have completed the first two phases of this project without all the support of the community, and there will be no way to complete the final phase without events like the charity golf tournament.
Our mission is to provide decent, affordable and healthy housing for people with housing needs in the Payson area who have low to moderate incomes and are unable to obtain conventional financing. We like to say we provide a hand up, not a hand out.
I simply do not have the room to thank everyone in this letter, so look for a thank you ad in the Payson Roundup for a full list of our sponsors, donors and volunteers.
Ross Hage, president, Payson Area Habitat for Humanity
