I am a newcomer to the city of Payson. I would like to commend the Payson Fire Department.
Recently, one of my smoke alarms indicated it needed attention in the middle of the night. I am a senior citizen. My house has high ceilings. At 8 a.m. I called the business office of the fire department and told the very helpful woman who answered about my problem. She said we can take care of that for you.
Within minutes, three very accommodating firemen were here and with their tall ladder changed the batteries in all the smoke alarms in my house. I asked if I could make a donation to the fire department, to at least pay for the batteries. They need a 9 volt and I had none. The firemen told me I could make a donation to the Firemen’s Auxiliary. I am going to do just that. We citizens of Payson are very fortunate to have this caliber of men and women in our department.
