Preserving memories

Carol LaValley will be our guest speaker Wednesday, July 28. She will help you delve into your treasure trove of memories so you can preserve them for future generations of your family.

Did you keep a diary when you were a youngster? How about when you were older? Did you scrapbook? Is genealogy your passion? All of these things are a gold mine for triggering memories.

If you want to take the time to write your story, or a relative’s story, LaValley will give you a few options. There are many ways to begin writing and none of them are right or wrong — your story might be best told chronologically, or maybe you want to focus on an all-consuming hobby, perhaps it’s a time period or special event you want to memorialize.

LaValley truly believes your stories are an important legacy for your children and grandchildren. Join her for an interactive mini-workshop from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Coffee and light refreshments will be served. The event is free, but you need to register by calling the Senior Circle at (928) 472-9290.

Upcoming health events

Upcoming health events scheduled for the Senior Circle include Penny Navis Schmidt, counselor, who will be speaking on how you can play an important role in you own health maintenance with the simple practice of Qigong. Qigong has been particularly effective for individuals with chronic health conditions. Practice results include both physical and emotional benefits, including increased focus and attention, improved cardiovascular and circulatory functions, increased vitality, enhanced immune system, balance and overall physical and mental health and well being. She will be speaking to the Senior Circle members at the Aug. 11 Lunch and Learn program.

Dr. Naqi, PRMC cardiologist, will also be a guest speaker in August. Don’t miss out on this informative event. Meet Dr. Naqi and learn more about cardiology care in Payson.
