The pattern of afternoon clouds and thunder almost daily is almost at peak conditions for our area. With the moisture arrival, we have a subsiding fire danger and an increase of weeds sprouting for our exercise pleasure.
Recently, we had a Aliberto’s Restaurant open in Heber. Many were looking forward to this as it has drive-through service. One resident was heard saying, “We now have a convenient place where we can just drive through to get Mexican food on the go.” The restaurant is where the former Rim Café existed for many years in the center of Heber. It was opened just before the July 4th weekend.
The Faith Lutheran Church is having its annual barbecue from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturday, July 17 at Faith Lutheran Church, 2750 Mogollon Drive. They are having a pit-flavored barbecue beef and pork dinner with beans, tortillas, coleslaw, drinks and dessert. It is $8.50 for the adults and $3.50 for children under 12 years old. Take out is also available. For more information, please call (928) 535-9575.
The Rim Community Library is having storytelling at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 21. The program is called “Mostly True Stories.” There will be tales of daring adventures, romance and comedy. As well, there will be a challenge to solve who is the storyteller.

Question of the week
