Lt. Col. Michael Pastika, Jr., USAF, the son of Michael Sr. and Maureen Pastika of Pine, was awarded the Bronze Star Medal June 21 for exceptionally meritorious service while in Baghdad, Iraq. He and his family are currently visiting in Pine.
