Chief Justice Rebecca White Berch reappointed Judge Robert Duber II, for a third term to the Committee on Superior Court (COSC).
The COSC assists the Arizona Judicial Council and the Supreme Court in development and implementation of policies designed to improve the quality of justice, access to the courts, and efficiency in court operations.
The committee studies and recommends improvements in the internal operations of the Superior Court.
Membership includes judges, administrators, clerks of the Superior Court and representatives from the Committee on Probation, the Arizona State Bar and the public. Duber was first appointed to COSC in 2004 by Chief Justice Charles Jones, and then re-appointed in 2007 by Chief Justice Ruth McGregor.
Currently, Duber serves as the division II judge of the Gila County Superior Court. Elected to the superior court in 1987, he has also served on a number of committees for the Supreme Court. Governor Jan Brewer recently appointed Duber to the Arizona Juvenile Justice Commission.
Duber, a 1976 graduate of Arizona State University, maintained a private practice and served as county attorney for Gila County.
Judge Duber has been on the bench since 1987. He has served as presiding judge, and in 2000 he was recognized as Judge of the Year by the National Child Support Enforcement Association.
