Learn To Preserve Memories; And Make New Ones With Senior Circle

Preserving memories

Carol LaValley will be the Senior Circle’s guest speaker Wednesday, July 28. LaValley will help members delve into their treasure trove of memories so they can preserve them for future generations. Register for this event by calling (928) 472-9290. The workshop will run from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and light refreshments will be served.

Day trips

Make some new memories with day trips planned for Senior Circle members and guests in the coming months

The Senior Circle has several day trips scheduled, however, in order for the trips to be affordable, at least 30 people will need to register. The trips planned so far, include:

• Wednesday, Sept. 29 — La Posada Hotel, the “last great railroad hotel,” in Winslow. Trip includes lunch and tour of the old train station and resort. Cost for transportation, tour and lunch is approximately $45.

• October — Phoenix Museum of Musical Instruments and lunch (on your own). Cost for transportation and tour is $45, lunch is not included in this fee.

• We would like to know member interest in attending the Prescott Parade of Lights Dec. 11 and Dec. 12. This would be an overnight trip.

Please call the Senior Circle at (928) 472-9290 if you are interested in participating.

Book fair

The Senior Circle is partnering with the Rim Country 2010 Literacy Program for the October Book Fair. All proceeds will go the literacy program, but the event will be held at the Senior Circle this year instead of the parking lot at Walmart. To help support this great program, bring unwanted books to the Senior Circle.

A community that cares

The Payson Regional Medical Center staff’s motto is “A Community that Cares, better health care starts with me.” Many of the medical staff has been caught in the act of caring above and beyond the call of duty. Recently a few Payson patients had the following to say about several of the PRMC medical staff:

Mark Solem, M.D. — “Being extremely patient and actually hearing me out instead of listening to himself. Thank you, doctor, for treating me and doing it gracefully.”

Jocelyn Santos, M.D. — “She provided outstanding care! Dr. Santos even took the time to speak to me the day after I was released. I had several questions and she was there for me! The hospital and patients are lucky to have Dr. Santos.”

Cynthia Booth, M.D. — “Dr. Booth and her staff provided the best possible care for me during my procedure. Dr. Booth truly cares about her patients.”

The Senior Circle would love to hear about your experiences with our local medical professionals. Just write a quick note about a positive experience you had and we will post it on our “atta boy” board at the Senior Circle. Write to Senior Circle, 215 N. Beeline Highway, Payson, AZ 85541.
