Editor:
Late last week we experienced a burglary at our store, Overman Designs Fine Jewelers. We were very blessed to have such an amazing response from the entire police department. Not only did the officers respond quickly, but with the aid of our state-of-the-art security system they were able to recover the small amount of sterling silver jewelry taken and had the perpetrator in custody within 18 hours.
We know with the down economy, increases in crimes and budget cuts, the police are doing more than their fair share. They were very efficient, friendly and extremely informative throughout our process of events. The police chief, Don Engler, came to our store the next afternoon and kept us informed of what had happened and the next steps to follow. The Scottsdale police were abundantly helpful in allowing Payson P.D. to complete this arrest. Thank you, Scottsdale P.D.
Special detectives Mike Varga and Matt VanCamp have met with us several times to keep us informed of what to expect. We are so grateful to not only get back the small amount taken, but also to have the suspect in custody so quickly. We appreciate the efficiency and compassion that came with their service.
Again, thank you, Payson P.D. You rock.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
