Trio Of Wonderful Dogs Looking For Loving Homes

My name is Talon. I’m a very handsome 1-1/2-year-old Shepherd mix, if I do say so myself. I followed some kids to the high school one day last February and was picked up and brought here to the Humane Society.

Let me tell you what I’m looking for. I would like to live with a loving, kind family. I want them to be very active because I like to play a lot. I love playing with other dogs and kids. I would even like to be with someone who runs. I could go for long runs or hikes every day if it was up to me. I also like playing in the water when it’s hot, and would enjoy going to river.

I’ve been living here at the animal shelter for 6 months, so I’m going to need someone with the patience to teach me to live in a house and to be part of a family. I’ve never met a cat, but I have heard of them. I’m not sure if I would like to live with a cat, but I might.

I’m not a very big guy. I only weigh about 40 lbs. I have a slick, easily maintained coat, a cute pink nose and a nice smile.

Now that you know about me, I’ll be looking for you, so please come down to the shelter at 812 S. McLane and give me a chance. I promise to do my best to be the best dog you could ever ask for.

Talon has been at the animal shelter for six months — that is one-third of his life. He deserves a home of his own with a kind and active family because he loves to play.

Talon is a 1-1/2-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix that was brought in to the shelter as a stray 6 months ago. While he has been here, he has learned some basic commands and manners. He is a very smart boy who LOVES to play ball. He will even play with pinecones. He is an active guy who likes to play with the other dogs and would do great at the dog park. He is good around children and rides well in a car. He has learned to walk like a gentleman on a leash and would truly benefit from an active, loving home that he can call his own.

HARLEY

Harley was returned to the shelter after 3 years because he jumps the fence when frightened by thunderstorms. He needs a family who will let him stay inside during these scary times.

My name is Harley and I am a 3-year-old Lab mix. I was adopted from this shelter when I was just a puppy. I get frightened during storms and fireworks and will jump the fence out of fear. I would feel much safer if I could come inside during these scary times. My owner brought me back to the shelter because of this, which makes me a little sad. But I am a fun-loving guy who is always in a great mood. I’m housebroken and leash trained and I play well with other dogs, and get along great with kids. I know basic commands like “sit” and “stay” and really love to be around people. I am used to going to the dog park and I like to ride in the car. I am current on my shots, have a microchip and have also been neutered.

CANDY

Candy was voted Snuggle Bunny of the Year by shelter staff. She is super smart and very affectionate, but she would like to be your only pet because she is such a princess.

Candy is a very sweet girl with a calm and mellow temperament and an affectionate personality. She seems to get along well with other dogs but we feel she would best thrive as an only child. She is not aggressive, she just likes to be the only princess. She does well on a leash and when riding in a car. She doesn’t like to be outdoors during bad weather, so please do not plan on locking her outdoors. She is NOT an outdoor only dog! Our little bear is also passing her basic commands training with flying colors but would benefit from further education. She is super smart and loves to make pouty faces! She has great manners at meal time, bath time and when asked to do something. But best of all, she loves to snuggle, so much that we voted her best snuggle bunny of the year! Would you like to try it with her? A home visit will also be required for our special girl so please prepare it with a soft bed, toys, snacks and most of all LOVE!
