Pine Fire Board Should Have Bought Out Chief

What the hell is wrong with the Pine Strawberry Fire Board?

A motion to buy out the last two months of the current Chief Robert Lashua at the May 26 meeting failed. Why?

Although it may not have accomplished much, it would have shown the employees of the district that someone else in authority allegedly cared about them, and the people — we the taxpayers — enough to remove the alleged problem at hand. Morale is down, There is an alleged lack of a leader, firefighters and engineers are looking elsewhere, and I of course have been terminated.

Now someone may think I am just an angry past employee. But that is far from the truth. I did the best I could under the circumstances. Since then, so much has changed.

I feel sorry for the remaining employees. In fact, I really am beginning to think that as soon as Bob Lashua is gone for good, morale would allegedly turn around with fresh blood at the helm.

No one should allegedly be afraid to talk to anyone for fear of guilt by association.

I would hope that no one would consider taking this man under their wing to allow him to go out on fires under Pine Strawberry Fire District. This is morally and ethically wrong. Once this chief is gone, gone he should remain. He should just work as a paramedic or nurse or whatever he allegedly does, chooses to do, or whomever may allegedly choose to hire him.

I hope this is taken into consideration. God forbid there is a bad fire season.

All I can state is hang in there fire personnel. Things can only get better with time.
