We would like to thank all who helped make the program at the Payson Pioneer Cemetery a success last Saturday, especially Angela Godac, Don Gibson, Jinx Pyle, Jim Skinner and Jeanne Peace.
Bill Sahno also deserves a big “thank you” for speaking to us and making sure the flag was raised just right. The music was great! Lois Brice, veteran of World War II, was honored. It was good to see Ella Lee Owens, Charles and Sherry Brunson, Duke Wilbanks, Ruth Haught, Carol Ogilvie, Ruth Lucchesi, Harry Shill and other old-timers there.
Despite the fact that a few American flags were removed from the graves Friday night — we managed to get most of them back up in time for the ceremony. It was a beautiful day and we had a fine time.
We hope more of you will join us next year as we honor our veterans.
We thank the Payson Roundup for having a photographer there.
Since the Payson Womans Club owns and operates the Payson Pioneer Cemetery, and has since 1922, the Payson Womans Club Board also serves as the Payson Cemetery Board of Directors. The cemetery director is Jayne Pyle, 474-0380.
