After a seven-year hiatus from the business, nail technician Kayle Cobb is back at work doing what she loves.
Starting June 15, Cobb will become Shear Oasis Salon’s primary nail technician.
Cobb, a longtime resident of Payson, said she has worked as a nail technician for 11 years. When salon owner Amanda M. Ruff called Cobb and asked her to join the salon staff, Cobb knew it was time to pursue her original passion.
“I have always liked doing nails,” Cobb said. “When I was in eighth grade, my mom’s friend did nails and I found it fascinating.”
As a nail technician, Cobb said she loves helping others look beautiful.
At the salon, at 806 N. Beeline Highway, Suite C, Cobb is excited to offer a new product — a 14-day polish called Shellac from Creative Nail Design. The polish is similar to normal polish, however, Shellac lasts two weeks, will not chip and retains its color.
Like any polish, Shellac is applied after a base coat and topped with a top coat. The polish is then set with a UV lamp. The polish removes easily, however, must be removed at a salon.
“It is pretty amazing stuff,” Cobb said.
