The Arizona Department of Transportation crews will begin final paving on State Route 87 between Payson and Pine June 21. Work hours are dawn to dusk, June 21 through June 25.
The project includes work in two separate segments: Section 1, a 1.3-mile segment just north of Payson; and Section 2, a one-mile segment just south of Pine.
A pilot car and flaggers will guide vehicles through the work zone. Be alert for workers and construction equipment and anticipate delays of up to 30 minutes during peak hours.
Bradshaw Road will be closed while the roadway is paved near its intersection with SR 87.
Crews will apply rubberized asphalt to the roadway in both segments. Rubberized asphalt reduces maintenance costs, increases pavement life, improves skid resistance and decreases noise levels.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funded this project.
