Googie is a 7-year-old Bassett Hound/ Bichon mix. She is mother to Lamb, and pretty easygoing and calm.

When we met the first seven we knew we had a challenge on our hands,

but with lots of TLC, they soon came around to our big plan.

You see, the Doreys, as we call them, arrived in poor condition.

Some were completely unsocialized, and some whipped down to pure submission.

Some had hair that was so wild, a brush could not go through,

some so shy and bashful, sitting in a corner was all that they could do.

We grew to know each loving dog, and they learned to trust us, too.

So here’s a quick rundown of the Dorey pack, just to name a few.

We started off with Cinnamon and Toot, as well as their sister Mona.

Then we had the privilege of getting to know Cookie, Baby and Yoda.

Hoppy really scored it big, 600 acres of his own.

But all the Doreys left our place headed for a loving home.

Now we’re down to our last four; some still need a little work.

But just one look at this precious clan will give your heartstrings a little jerk.

Beanie, Lupie, Googie and Lamb are the last that still remain.

And there’s one thing for sure here at HSCAZ,

you’ll always get a smile if you mention the Dorey name.

Beanie is a 5-year-old Bassett Hound/Schipperke mix. He is the shy one of the bunch, but given a little time, he will come around for some attention, too.
