Passing School Override Important

Failure to pass the override continuation for the Payson School District will be devastating for the school curriculum. Class sizes are now far too large with the existing override and the current teacher student load is not acceptable for quality education.

The increase in taxes equates to the cost for a dinner for two at most restaurants.

When I retired from teaching in 1987, Arizona ranked 45th in the nation based on some eight criteria. We have now slipped to 50th among the states with only Puerto Rico ranking lower. The failure to support our youth, retain essential programs and hold down class sizes will put us deeper into the cellar.

I am 77 years old and have no problem paying a few dollars to support our youth and retain teachers and essential programs in the school curriculum. The outright selfishness I hear from some seniors displays the shortsightedness they possess in opposing the support of future generations.
