A Payson man is under arrest, accused of possessing four pounds of marijuana for sale.
The Gila County Sheriff’s Office reported Monday the arrest of 39-year-old Leslie Wayne Ross on charges of possession of marijuana for sale, aggravated driving under the influence and possession of burglary tools.
On Monday, around midnight, Deputy Leonard Kerszykowski pulled Ross over near the Rye Bar on a routine traffic violation.
After talking with Ross — who was acting “a bit differently” — and smelling marijuana coming from the car, Kerszykowski became suspicious and retrieved Roman, the Sheriff’s Office’s K-9, from his vehicle, said Lt. Tim Scott.
Roman went around the 2000 blue Toyota Celica and alerted deputies to the trunk.
In the trunk, deputies found four pounds of marijuana.
