Furniture store opening Friday

A family run furniture store is opening in the former space of Legacy Furniture this weekend.

Roud’s Fine Home Furnishings will open its doors Friday during a soft opening.

The store will sell a mix of furniture styles, accessories and mattress brands.

The owners, who own two furniture stores in Show Low, plan to run the shop six days a week and take Sundays off.

Business Showcase this weekend

The 18th Annual Business Showcase is opening on Saturday, March 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Sunday, March 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All 54 booths inside are full, and 12 of the 15 outside booths, including food booths, are full.

Parking for the event is available on the east side of the Walmart parking lot.

Admission to the showcase is $1 for adults, with children under 12 admitted free.

All exhibitors will have raffle prizes, product information and products to sell directly from their booths.

Seminars on the federal tax credits available for home improvements, such as solar, real estate, heating and cooling, windows, plumbing and roofing will be held every 30 minutes. Check at the information desk for times.

The event is sponsored by the Payson Regional Medical Center, Rim Country Health & Retirement Community, Good Samaritan Majestic Rim, Lowery’s Glass, the Payson Roundup, Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, Comfort Keepers and Waste Management.

Exhibitors include Apex Alternative Energy, Arizona Solar Power, Chapman Auto Center, Friends of the Tonto Natural Bridge, Indian frybread, Scoops, Shear Oasis Salon, Signature Custom Door & Window Inc., Smart Systems Inc., St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and many more.
