Putting Health Into Perspective

A once debunked mini-golf center is now home to an all-natural weight loss and health center fit for anyone looking to feel better physically and mentally or just grab a bite to eat for lunch.

Nearly everything at Healthy Perspectives, 805 E. Highway 260, has been transformed from Southard’s Stampede Mini Golf.

Where artificial grass and golf course tubes and tunnels lay, soon a Zen garden of stones and a groomed garden will sit. Where plastic 1 cent toys were handed out to for hitting a hole-in-one, a gourmet kitchen sits complete with dehydrated eggplant chips, naturally sweetened frozen yogurt and ionized water.

Nearly everything from the former space has been transformed or torn out, except for a blooming cherry tree near the entrance.

Owner Cindy Bryant said Healthy Perspectives, LLC offers services and products that are environmentally conscious and designed to give customers their best quality of life naturally.

The center offers weight management programs, natural health and lifestyle education, lifestyle coaching, natural products and the Health Living Kitchen.

From 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Rowena Marrs and staff cook up organic breakfasts and lunches.

Try a bowl of Marrs’ vegetable soup or a slice of quiche and you will realize how tasty eating healthy is if done right. The kitchen also offers mini muffins, organic coffee and tea, dehydrated snacks and sandwiches.

If you sign up for the Healthy Perspectives weight management program, eating at the kitchen is included in the cost, said member Judy Corwin.

Judy and her husband Bill Corwin signed up for the program nine weeks ago after hearing about it from friends.

Judy said she noticed her friends were losing weight and wondered what they were doing differently. They all echoed that Bryant had changed their lives.

In just a few months, Bill has already lost 40 pounds and his asthma has decreased in severity. Judy has also lost weight and has more energy.

“This is the most positive, right place to be,” she said.

As members, the Corwins receive all of their meals from Healthy Perspectives, where they are cooked in-house using only organic products tailored for fat loss.

Although the program is expensive, Judy said the benefits far outweigh any cost.

“I find it easy to stay on the program because it works,” she said.

Bryant, a Certified Natural Health Professional, started Healthy Perspectives four years ago out of her home.

Rowena Marrs says she loves cooking in her new kitchen at Healthy Perspectives. Marrs bakes up quiche, gluten-free bread and baked goods daily along with healthy soups, sandwiches and salads.

After growing the business slowly, she decided to open up a storefront to better serve her existing and future clients in late March. Besides a kitchen, the new space offers room for classes, body therapies, including foot, auricular and flora and several modes of massage.

Bryant explained she first became interested in natural health when she wanted to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle. After learning a European protocol for weight loss, Bryant lost 70 pounds.

With her program, clients learn how “the body works and how to work with it,” she said. “The bottom line is exercise is not needed to lose weight.”
