A Tonto Basin man was shot in the face by a neighbor after an apparent argument Wednesday.
The victim, who has not been identified, was shot once in the face. The man who shot him, called 911 for help.
When sheriff’s deputy Wayne Dorsett arrived on scene, the victim was in his driveway bleeding from the mouth, according to Gila County Sheriff’s Lt. Tim Scott.
Tonto Basin Fire Department began medical treatment on the man until Native Air could airlift him to a hospital.
Dorsett retrieved the weapons involved in the altercation and sheriff’s Det. Jamie Garrett began an investigation, which is ongoing. No charges have been filed and the man’s condition is unknown.
Scott said more information would be released when available.
