The weather has been unpredictable the last week, with the small amount of snow and heavy winds topping 53 mph. We are now on a calm warming trend that many welcome with a sigh of relief.
An AKC-sanctioned dog show is occurring at Mogollon High School Saturday, May 8 and Sunday, May 9. The doors open at 10 a.m.
The dog show will be an all breed and obedience rally.
The Capps Middle School construction continues with the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) installation. Progress is moving along quite well with the roof sheeting and with some of the final trusses being connected to the outer walls.
The crews are also working on the perimeter grounds providing more footings for the minor structures extending out from the buildings.
The Friends of the Library is selling cards and gifts for Mother’s Day at their store located in the Heber-Overgaard Rim Community Library. All proceeds go to buying new books for the library.
Also at the Heber-Overgaard Rim Community Library, the Rockin’ Readers Book Club meets every second Friday of the month at the library at 11a.m.
The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary is having a Pork Loin Dinner from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday May 8. It will be held at Highway 260 and Lumber Valley Road. Admission is $6 per person.
