Tonto Village was increased by one this past week with the arrival of Sarah Ruby Morris. Sarah arrived on April 30 and weighing in at 7 pounds, 7 ounces. Sarah’s parents are Tyler and Stephanie Morris of Tonto Village II and she is joined in her new family by two brothers, Jonathan and David. Sarah’s brothers say that she is “awesome.”
Sarah also has a grandmother, Ruby Spalink, and great-grandfather, Charlie Terry, and several aunts and uncles.
Congratulations to the Morris family.
Tonto Village was hopping this past weekend at the Double D Restaurant and Bar with the fantastic band of Rockin’ Ron Gibson. Ron was the coordinator of the benefit barbecue held for the Watson family. There was an auction of great items, a bake sale and a silent auction. Many people helped put on the benefit and it turned out to be a very successful effort.
The Gila County maintenance crew was busy in the Village last week replacing culverts on Thompson Road and Johnson Boulevard. There were several heavy equipment pieces that were needed to accomplish the deed. The crew did a great job that took all day to finish. Thank you to all the crew for the great job they did.
The culverts will help divert rainwater to the creek instead of villager’s yards and homes.

Please don’t forget that this Sunday is Mother’s Day. Mothers are always in your corner no matter what and they are deserving of your love and respect. Show her how much she is appreciated with lots of hugs and kisses, she really doesn’t need expensive gifts. She just needs to know that you love her.
