Charity Ride Successful

This past Mother’s Day weekend the American Legion Riders hosted our annual charity ride to support Payson Supply Line.

I would like to thank the many local sponsors that donated prizes and cash that made this event such a huge success. The donors are too numerous to name them all, but virtually every business and organization that was approached gave generously to the cause, especially the Elks, the Honor Guard, Compass Bank, the VFW in Payson and Tonto Basin and Walmart donated several hundred dollars each.

Eighty riders participated and helped to raise almost $6,000, all of which goes to PSL for troop support in Iraq and Afghanistan. Wow! Can you believe what a great service the folks at PSL perform? They deserve our support and heartfelt thanks.

A very special thanks to Lud and Butch and the entire PSL crew. What a great way to honor our mothers and their sons and daughters who put themselves in harm’s way to safeguard our freedoms.
