National Day Of Prayer

Praise the Lord for every one of the 350 attendees at the Christian National Day of Prayer services in Gila County on Thursday, May 6. Each of the morning prayer gatherings, at Crossroads and Mt. Bible churches, plus the Pine School flagpole and Community Center Ramada, were well-organized and very worshipful. Then the largest National Day of Prayer event ever held in Gila County was led by the Payson Christian Community School students, musicians and principal at Rumsey Park. Each of them gave God the glory through their prayers, especially the young boy who prayed that he could “become more like Jesus.” The evening prayer event at the Nazarene Church was also well-attended and God-honoring with praises, thanks and requests for our community. Each of the events listed above was sponsored by the Payson Christian Ministerial Fellowship.

There were also National Day of Prayer events in the Globe area, in part sponsored by the Gila County Ministerial Association. Those were at the Gila County Courthouse and other governmental buildings in that part of the county. Within Arizona, proclamations for the National Day of Prayer were signed by at least Mayors Kenny Evans and William Rappaport, the Gila County Board of Supervisors and Governor Janice Brewer.

Special thanks go to each person who helped make these prayer opportunities available and to the many people who made the programs as successful as they were. May all the glory go to our Almighty God, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
