Construction has begun to switch to an all-weather track and Mogollon High School.

The weather has been very pleasant lately. A few days we had breezes. The fire danger has already been set to “high” as indicated at the Black Mesa Ranger Station billboard next to Highway 260 in Overgaard.

The bond issue to make the running track at the Mogollon High School an all-weather track has started construction. Workers are in progress tearing out the existing curbing to make way for the new materials to be laid.

After the clearing is done, they will commence installing all new curbs that will circle the football field that will border the track. Following that, asphalt will be laid down. Once that is accomplished, one-half inch of rubberized material will be adhered to the asphalt. Date of completion is unclear at this time.

The Heber/Overgaard Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Rummage Riot in Tall Timbers Park on Saturday, May 29, Memorial Day Weekend. The event will begin at 7 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend and see if you can find that special item just waiting for you. If you wish to set up a sales area, applications are available from the Chamber Visitors Center, physically located at 2774 Hwy. 260. Write the Chamber at P.O. Box 1926, Overgaard, AZ 85933. Spaces are roughly 12’x12’ at a cost of $10 each. Checks can be made out to the Heber/Overgaard Chamber of Commerce (HOCOC).
