I would like to thank all my volunteers and workers that helped me set up and prepare for our AG Education Program Field Day for the schools in Gila County which included Globe, Miami, Tonto Basin, Young and Payson.
It could not have been successful without everyone working together to make it happen. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we had over 135 to 150 students a day. The students participated in wagon riders, ranch branding, petting zoo, stick horse ranch rodeo, super looper roping, harnessing work horses and farm equipment, branding signs to take home, this gave the students a true outlook on what a farmer and rancher might do all day, all the students also received a T-shirt.
All the people who helped with the Ag Day made it a great success and it is truly appreciated, thank you. Thanks to the committee I work with Lani Hall, Gila County 4-H Extension leader, Johna Kile and Laurilee Connolly for the classroom lessons that prepared the students for their big day at the ranch.
A big thank you to Tonto National Resource Conservation District and its members, H-4 Ranch and for the RAC grant (Resource Advisory Committee) for sponsoring this event. I truly know we have touched our students in a special way! Also a big thank you to the school principals and their staff for all their support. Thank you.
