Breast Cancer Support Group Thanks Pro Rodeo Committee

Our Payson Reaching Out Breast Cancer Support Group gives a very appreciative thank you to the Pro Rodeo Committee for supporting us again this year with proceeds from the Rodeo’s Friday Night Tough Enough to Wear Pink. This is the fifth consecutive year that they have shared with us. As a result of their hard work, and the public who attended this event, our organization received a very generous donation that will be used to help any woman in the Rim Country area who needs financial assistance, not covered by insurance, in her battle with breast cancer.

The needs are many and varied. Some need help meeting their co-pay, travel expenses, prostheses, mastectomy bras, wigs, etc. We can help with any expense incurred in the diagnosis/treatment of breast cancer not covered by insurance.

A recipient does not have to be a member of our support group to receive this assistance; she only needs to reside in the Rim Country area. If you are a breast cancer survivor and need assistance, please call 472-3331 and let us know your needs. Your identity will be protected.

Our support group meets from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., the second Thursday of every month at Mount Cross Lutheran Church on Highway 260, just past Safeway. Any woman diagnosed with breast cancer is welcome. There is no obligation or fees, just support from women who have made the same journey.

If you are newly diagnosed, we’d especially like to visit with you. If you are a longtime survivor, we can use that inspiration for others.
