Editor:

On behalf of the PAWS (Payson Area Woofers Society) the sponsor of the chili supper and the Humane Society of Central Arizona, we would like to thank the following businesses for their donations to our 14th Annual Chili Supper held on Tuesday, Nov. 9.

Our special thanks to Macky’s Grill, who really went the extra mile when we were running out of chili, Gerardo’s Italian Restaurant, Tiny’s Family Restaurant, El Rancho Mexican Restaurant and Fargo’s Steakhouse. The band, “Blue Frog” donated their time to entertain our guests at the Elks Lodge. Western Village, Payson Jewelers, Star Valley Veterinary Clinic, CAVU Aviation, the Payson Roundup, the Elks Lodge, and Tonto Natural Bridge donated items also to make the chili supper a success. Please support these businesses and all businesses in the community, they deserve our patronage. All the proceeds from the chili supper went to help the Humane Society so they can continue the great work of taking care of the homeless animals.

A special thank you to all the PAWS and Humane Society volunteers who donated their time to help at the chili supper. This would not have been a success without your time and commitment. To all who attended the chili supper, a grateful thank you, we hope you enjoyed the evening.

The winners of the raffles are: Judy Corwin won the 4-Peaks amethyst ring donated by Payson Jewelers, Marie Mennen won the St. DalFour Gourmet Adventure basket with a half hour flight for two by CAVU Aviation along with a day pass to the Tonto Natural Bridge, Victoria Wood won the 50/50 raffle. On Sunday, Diane Foley, of Phoenix, won the dog quilt which was raffled at the Rim Country Quilt Roundup. On behalf of all the animals, we sincerely thank you, Payson, Pine, Strawberry, Star Valley and all of Rim Country for you support in 2010.
