Free Qualified Help For Medicare Choices

Medicare annual enrollment began Nov. 15 and continues through Dec. 31, 2010, so it’s time to review your plan.

Pinal-Gila Council for Senior Citizens, Area Agency on Aging, Region V, is providing a Medicare annual open enrollment event to assist with health plan coverage choices available to people with Medicare at the Payson Senior Center, 514 W. Main St., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1.

Open enrollment is the time of year when current or newly-eligible Medicare beneficiaries, including people with original Medicare, can review their current health or prescription drug plans, compare the plans to other options and choose the plans that best meet their current needs.

There’s never been a better time to check out Medicare coverage. With the new health care law, there are new benefits available to people with Medicare, including lower prescription costs, wellness checkups and preventative care.

Take advantage of open enrollment and be sure to compare plans, as well as learn about the new benefits that are available in 2011.

• Get one-one-one help from benefit counselors, personalized comparison of costs and coverage of the plans available.

• Personalized confidential screening and application assistance to help pay for prescription drugs, Part B premium assistance.

• Bring complete list of prescriptions and Medicare card information.

• Visit or call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227); TTY, 1-877-486-2048)
