Adoptions, Donations Needed At Humane Society

I just got back from my weekly volunteer position at the Humane Society of Central Arizona. I am always amazed at how such a small staff can accomplish so much. The last two weeks I have seen more and more pets being dropped off at the shelter. This morning I learned that there are over 100 dogs and over 80 cats being cared for there.

As an adopter of several older pets, I encourage everyone, especially seniors to think about adopting an older cat or dog.

I recently adopted a 14-year-old cat who is so lively and playful. She makes me laugh at least once a day with her antics.

There is a very sweet dog, Dixie, that needs a loving home where she can be the only pet. She will love you more than you can ever know. Dixie is just one of many that need a home.

Please find it in your heart to adopt a pet today or if you can’t be a forever home, think about being a foster parent to some of these wonderful pets; especially during the winter months when the weather is cold.

Also donations of money, food, treats, chew bones and your time would be greatly appreciated.

The staff always thanks me for helping them, but it is really me who wants to thank them for all they do for our four-legged friends.
