Shelter Staff Works Hard To Match Pets And People

The variety of cats and dogs we have at the shelter is amazing. We have every color of kitten you could imagine, the friendliest mixed up mutts, and purebred dogs that include labs, a Min Pin and even a Weimaraner.

We have active animals who love to swim and go for hikes, and laid-back animals who enjoy sun bathing and lying at your feet. We have animals who get along great with other dogs and cats, and then we have some animals that’d do best as the only pet.

Whatever it is you’re looking for in your next animal companion, chances are we have it here. Come on down to the shelter and meet with a staff member so that we can figure out who will be your best match. We promise to do our best and to make sure you and your new pet leave here happy. Adoptions are a blessing and we take great pride in them. It’s the good news we hear about when we get back from our days off that puts an everlasting smile on our faces.

Please come down and meet our adoptable animals at 812 S. McLane Road, or view them online at www.humanesocietycentralaz.org.

Morticia

MORTICIA

Morticia is a 3-year-old Min Pin. She was brought in as a stray from Star Valley, but no one ever came looking for her. She has been spayed and is current on her vaccinations. She is a super friendly girl who gets along with other dogs and older children. She is leash trained and housebroken and rides well in a car. Morticia would do best in a loving home where she can be spoiled and treated like a princess.

Cooper

COOPER

Cooper is a 10-month-old Lab. He was brought in with his sister in August after a family found them running loose and held on to them for about a week to see if anyone was looking for them. Cooper is neutered and current on his shots. He is friendly with other dogs and children and will need some help to learn basic commands, housebreaking and leash training.

Angel

ANGEL

Angel is a 10-year-old Weimaraner who was found running loose 8 miles south of Winslow on Highway 87. She has a microchip, but her information was never updated and we were not able to reach her owners. She is spayed and current on her shots. Angel is a shy girl, but she warms up to you when she feels safe. She is easygoing and well mannered and would do best in a quiet household.

Fluffy

FLUFFY

Fluffy is a 5-year-old medium-haired orange and white stud muffin. He was abandoned by his owners and brought in to us by a concerned neighbor. Fluffy has passed his health tests, was previously neutered and is current on his vaccinations. He is an easygoing guy who gets along well with other cats and dogs. Fluffy would love a home where he can sun bathe in the window and gets some love and attention too.

Pounce

CHARLOTTE

Charlotte is a 3-month-old tortie. She and her brothers were brought in when they were just a few weeks old, so they spent some time in a foster home where they were weaned off the bottle and taught how to use the litter box. Charlotte is used to being around dogs and other cats. She is spayed, current on her shots and has passed her health tests.

POUNCE

Pounce is a 5-month-old kitten who was found underneath a porch in Whispering Pines. He was the friendliest one out of the litter and was able to be put into a foster home where he was socialized and taught to use a litter box. He is good with other cats and dogs and is pretty laid-back. He does like to hide in boots and pounce out at you, which is how he got his name. He is neutered, current on shots and passed his health tests.
