Be Careful Who You Elect

Editor:

If we want our democracy to make it through the 21st century, we cannot continue to increase the disparity of wealth between the rich and the middle class. As we can already see in this election cycle, a small minority of wealthy individuals and corporations are using their vast fortunes on negative advertising in an attempt to control who gets elected. The Republican insistence on extending the tax cuts for the super wealthy will only make them richer. Already 5 percent of Americans control 95 percent of our wealth.

Middle class Tea Party activists, Republicans, and Independents should think twice about the consequences of electing people who will vote to increase the disparity of wealth between the rich and the middle class. Be careful what you wish for! Democracy may be the victim.

"Already 5 percent of Americans control 95 percent of our wealth". And just who do you think pays the MAJORITY of all taxes? The top 5%. But 47% of the middle class and lower income brackets pay NO TAX. And who do you think creates the vast majority of JOBS in the USA. No, not the Government (but Obama is trying to make it so) If I earn well through my own creativity and sweat, keep your hands off of it.

How sad to see another ignorant person who mistakenly feels that by taxing productive people at an even higher rate, and by giving that money to the least productive people in our country, the economy of America will somehow become revitalized.

These poorly educated people seem to comprise the majority of the Democrat party.
