I am running for the Hellsgate Fire Board and completely agree with Ted Paulk’s “Do the math” letter. The Payson leaders are out of their mind to exchange the sweetheart deal they are getting from Hellsgate for their new fire station. The new station will cost the Payson taxpayers many millions of wasted savings.
The irony from my point of view is that the good deal we are giving Payson which they chose to throw away was a terrible deal for our own taxpayers of Hellsgate. The $1,260 that we charge Payson per call is less than half what we charge our own people.
Simply put, Hellsgate has been subsidizing Payson. The Payson city council does not apparently seem to be smarter than a fifth-grader.
