I just got back from a retreat up north, which took me up through Sedona, (hoping to see fall colors, but the trees were still as green as could be), on to Williams, back through Flagstaff, down Lake Mary Road, and ultimately, home sweet home. Two notable sights: First, snow on the top of Mount Humphreys; and second, overturned train cars, mangled RVs, damaged siding and roofs on several houses, and twisted trees — remnants of the recent tornadoes.
Although the leaves in Oak Creek Canyon had not started to change color, Williams and Flagstaff are a different story. The aspens and oaks there are in full fall array and there was even frost on the ground in the morning. It made me appreciate the warmer temperatures here in Pine.

The Pine Library Friends will hold their next meeting at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 25 in the library activity room behind the Cultural Hall in Pine. Because this is a business meeting, there will be no guest speakers, however, the Library Friends encourage you to attend this important gathering in which officers will be elected and committees will be formed. This is also a great time to contribute input regarding the upcoming year’s events and all residents are invited to participate. Refreshments will also be served so you will have a chance to get to know other folks who support our local library.
Have a great week and be sure to enjoy the warmer weather while it lasts.
