STATE ROUTE 260 LITTLE GREEN VALLEY WIDENING
Hauling of Materials Continues – Increased Truck Traffic
ADOT crews will continue the hauling of materials the week of October 18. Truck traffic is anticipated to be particularly heavy during work hours as 20 additional trucks have been added to the schedule. The increased volume of truck traffic will require momentary flagging of traffic to direct project vehicles and machinery to designated areas of the work zone. Motorists can expect brief delays, in some instances from 5 to10 minutes. Please allow extra time to reach your destination.
Work hours are between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until 12 noon on Friday. Message boards, temporary barricades, and signage will guide motorists through the route. Please do not follow trucks.
The speed limit within the construction zone is reduced to 35 miles per hour and a width restriction of 10 feet remains in place.
STATE ROUTE 87 AIRPORT ROAD ROUNDABOUT
Airline Boulevard Remains Closed – Installation of Sidewalk
Airline Boulevard at the intersection of SR 87 will remain closed until Friday, October 29 to provide a safe work zone as crews continue installation of new sidewalk and curb ramps on the east side of the project. In addition, crews will be placing aggregate base materials in preparation for paving of the roundabout prior to Airline Boulevard reopening.
During the Airline Boulevard closure, motorists can access residential and business properties via a clearly marked detour on the north and south boundaries of the project work zone. The detour will direct motorists from Glade Lane and Rancho Road for access to Airline Boulevard.
Northbound and Southbound SR 87 Reduced to One Lane – Traffic Switch
North and southbound SR 87 will be reduced to one lane beginning Friday, October 22 to provide a safe work zone as ADOT crews continue concrete work in the median and begin excavation of the existing roadway. Traffic will be redirected through a new construction route that will be clearly marked with temporary signage and barricades to guide motorists through the work zone. The speed limit is reduced to 25 miles per hour and will be strictly enforced.
No Left Turns Permitted
While SR 87 is restricted to one lane, there will be no left turns allowed in either the north or southbound lanes of the project work zone. Once Airline Boulevard is reopened, the restriction will be removed and left turns will be allowed within the new roundabout formation.
