Community Church Needs Help With Angel Tree Giving Program

The Community Presbyterian Church of Payson is participating in the Prison Ministries Angel Tree program and needs the community’s assistance.

Each year the Prison Ministries Fellowship Program asks local churches to sponsor Angel Tree Giving in their communities, the program provides Christmas presents for local children who have a parent in prison.

For many children, this is the main contact with that parent and helps keep the family unity alive.

This is the 11th year that the Community Presbyterian Church and Child Learning Center are participating in this effort.

The pre-K class from the Child Learning Center is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner, bake sale and raffle from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5 to raise funds for the project. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to accept the children’s Christmas wish lists and have a photo taken for a minimum donation.

There will be live entertainment for guests’ dining pleasure along with a Christmas carol sing-a-long from 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. with our Payson Girl Scouts. Other items will be on sale as well.

The pre-K class actually does the shopping for gifts and do the wrapping themselves with that other child in mind.

The support of the community is needed to help make this a successful year so that this important need can be met.

Come for dinner or call Carolyn at (928) 474-2059 for other ways in which you can help meet this goal.

Any funds remaining after purchasing gifts is used for food baskets for Payson families in need.
