With the Payson Men’s Golf Association’s 2010 season about to end, retired school teacher Mike McKee broke into the win column scoring an A flight high tally of 62 in an individual low-net formatted tournament played Oct. 20 at Payson Golf Course.
With a 72, Ken Althoff finished second in the flight.
In B flight Steve Holmes posted a 63 to take first. Steve Vincent was hot on Holmes’ golf cart at 64.
Don Gyde was red hot, posting a 55 and a closest-to-the-pin win to take first in C flight.
Sil Egler, also a closest-to-the-pin winner, was second at 64.
Gyde was closest on No. 5 at 3 feet, 6 inches.
With a lie of 16 feet, 3 inches on No. 17, Gyde pocketed closest-to-the-pin prize money there.
Other winners included Al Lyons (No. 2; 13 feet, 10 inches), Don Castleman (No. 14; 7 feet, 4 inches) and Althoff (No. 8; 3 feet, 11 inches).
All that remains in the season is a Black and White tournament on Oct. 27 and a Low Net Turkey Shoot on Nov. 3.
