On Aug. 24, 19 percent of registered voters in Arizona went to the polls. Prior to that, the Legislature and the governor went out on a limb to pass SB1070, which gave Arizona law enforcement the power to do what the federal government won’t do. With 70 percent of the rest of the country fully behind us, how did the people of Arizona show their gratitude? They voted for Mr. Amnesty, John McCain. Not only are the people of Arizona lazy, but they’re a bunch of bozo ingrates. Whatever McCain does to them, not for them in this coming term, they deserve. If his track record is any indication, he certainly will do it. For example: McCain/Feingold act, voted against the Bush tax cut, said he’d “close the gun show loophole,” voted with T. Kennedy for amnesty for illegals.
Also, you might want to ask yourself how come as of Monday, Aug. 30, four days after the secretary of state told the U.N. that Arizona is depriving residents of their “human rights,” neither of our two senators have publicly expressed one word of protest? Probably for the same reason they were unable to protest the 1070 lawsuit originating in a district court in violation of Art. III, Sect. 2, para. 2 of the Constitution.
And while we’re on the subject of the polls, how is it that residents of Gisela must travel to Payson to work the polls there? Is it because it’s beneath the dignity of all those worthy Payson retirees who are too busy fishing, riding and golfing to spend one day doing their civic duty while getting paid more than jury duty?
