November’s school board elections feature hotly contested races.
In Pine, neither Jessica Barnett nor Jennifer Zimmerman chose to run again. Vying for the two open seats are Michael Ward, Robert Horne and Greg Zimmerman. Terms run for two years.
Also, Gila Community College Chair Bob Ashford is up for election. Miami resident Ray Webb will contest the seat.
GCC board member Tom Loeffler is running unopposed to keep his seat for another six-year term.
