The Payson Senior Center at 514 W. Main, Payson, provided a great breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, a choice of bacon or sausage and orange juice, plus another beverage from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 11. The $4 cost per plate will help the center provide its many ongoing programs for the older residents of Payson, Star Valley and the surrounding area.
Upcoming events include: the monthly birthday celebration for seniors with September birthdays Thursday, Sept. 16, with music by Wayne Todd at 11 a.m. and a menu featuring turkey a la king over biscuits, spinach, carrots, ambrosia salad, birthday cake and beverage. Advance reservations required.
Anne James performs live musical entertainment at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21 in the center dining room. The program is free and open to the public, but reservations are needed for lunch; and then on Wednesday, Sept. 22 there will be a luau, with entertainment, games, Hawaiian food and karaoke by Big Bob.
Also taking place at the center: country-western dance lessons are held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday; free art classes are offered from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays; and Mah Jongg at 1 p.m. every Friday. Also on Fridays, enjoy movies and muffins in the morning. There’s no charge to watch old, favorite movies at 9:30 a.m., Fridays.
