Final Blasting Scheduled On State Route 260 East Of Payson Next Week

The project to widen State Route 260, 15 miles east of Payson, will reach a milestone, as work crews perform the final blasting required for the construction. Drivers will need to plan ahead to avoid delays.

The Arizona Department of Transportation will close a two-mile segment of the highway for 45 minutes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 21 through Sept. 23. Eastbound traffic will be stopped at milepost 265 and westbound traffic will be stopped at milepost 267.

The roadway will be closed while workers blast and clear material to provide room to widen the highway.
