New Cardiologist Welcomed To Rim Country

Dr. Sam Gillette

The Payson Regional Medical Center and the Senior Circle welcome Dr. Sam Gillette to Payson. He is PRMC’s new cardiologist.

A graduate of Michigan State University and board certified in cardiology, Gillette recently completed his fellowship at POH Regional Medical Center/St. Joseph’s Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Mich. His office is located at Payson Healthcare Specialists. He was recruited to Payson to replace Dr. Naqi.

Gillette is a highly trained cardiologist who is going to help the Payson Regional Medical Center expand programs and services. For an appointment, talk to your physician for a referral or call (928) 472-3478.

Gillette will be speaking at the Senior Circle Oct. 13 Lunch and Learn. This event will fill up fast, so reserve a seat now by calling (928) 472-9290. The event is from 11 a.m. to noon, a light lunch is served and the event is free.

Day trips

The Senior Circle is offering a day trip to the Phoenix Museum of Musical Instruments and River of Time Museums Oct. 25. Please sign up by Oct. 10. The cost for the trip is $48. Lunch will be on your own at the MIM Café.

It’s time to sign up for or renew Tonto Apache Gym memberships for November, December and January. Dues should be in to the Senior Circle office by Oct. 25. The cost is $52 for the three-month period. Tonto Gym offers an excellent water aerobics class Monday through Friday, both in the morning and evening.

A free series of health educational and informational lectures held at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Wednesday of the month will include:

• Dr. Sam Gillette, cardiologist, PRMC — Oct. 13

• “Nifty over Fifty” with Linda Murphy, a fun motivational speaker who will provide some insight to be the best we can be over the age of 50 — Oct. 27

• Hart Hintze, chief of nursing for PRMC, will discuss men’s health issues — Nov. 10

Ballroom Dance — Thursday, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Beginning Ballroom — Tuesday, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 pm (resumes Oct. 12)

Line Dance — Friday, 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Knitting —Tuesday, 9 a.m.

Bunco — Monday, 1 p.m.

Pinochle — Tuesday, 1 p.m.
